What I'm Loving Wednesday!

It's that time again! I will be linking up with Jamie at This Kind of Love, Heather at The Curvy Life, and Miss Melanie at The Acker Family blog!

Just yesterday I had THE BEST experience with my little boy, mom and mother-in-law!  Since this will be Zane's very first Halloween we thought it'd be so fun to take him to the Dallas Arboretum and have his pictures taken in the pumpkin patch.  Here are some of the great photos taken, and having an ADORABLE subject to photograph did help! :)

Just a few right? Haha! I can't help it, they are all so great!!!  I love that we did this, it's a memory I will carry with me forever!! The little pumpkin he's holding we took home, he really seemed to like it, so I made sure he got it! Now if Dallas could just get that cold front they've been teasing us with we will have a perfect Halloween!!

Recipe Rendezvous! **A Link Party!**

So this is my very first link party!! We will see how it goes and if it's popular I will keep it going. I'm sure it's going to take some time to get going. This is a recipe link party so please link up as many recipes as you wish!!  I do hope you will link back to my page and I'd so appreciate a follow!

The first recipe I'd lik to share with you all is Chicken-n-Dumplins.  My mom always made this and it's the yummiest I've ever had!

What you'll need:

1 whole chicken (bone-in is best)
1 onion
4-5 stalks of celery
4-5 carrots
2 cans of buttermilk buscuits
1 tsp. Thyme
1 tsp. Basil
1 Bay leaf

First, you start with a whole chicken and boil it in a large pot, this will make your broth.  Once it is cooked thoroughly take it out and place in a large bowl to de-bone once it has cooled off a bit.

Next, chop the onion, celery stalks, and carrots and put in the pot to boil until they are soft.  If your chicken is cool enough, pull apart and add to the pot. Then add your seasonings, add salt and pepper to taste.  When I made it I did not add the bay leaf or thyme and it was still very yummy!

Lastly, you'll cut the uncooked buscuits in quarters and add to the pot while stove is still on med-high heat.

Once the dumplings stop floating on the surface that means they are done and you can serve and enjoy!!!

Now here's your chance to share your yummy recipes!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!!

It's been too long since I've updated you on what I am loving lately...I am linking up with Jamie at This Kind of Love and Heather at The Curvy Life.

As a mommy on the go and LOTS to carry when we do, I no longer carry a purse, my purse is this diaper bag from Bella Tunno, which I love!!!!  It could easily pass for a purse because it's so cute!!!

I am an organization freak so I do have to keep my stuff separate in this adorable diaper bag and I make that happen in this handy dandy, compact carry all by Vera Bradley.

This thing holds all my cash, debit cards, some loose change and my keys and cell!  Its amazing and is small enough that it fits in the front pocket of the diaper bag!

Here's something I and my hubby both love and it's really something that you can't put a price on!!  The Angel Care monitor!  This puppy senses movement in the crib, and when I say movement I mean it senses Zane breathing! You just place the mat underneath the mattress and believe it or not it will sense whether he's on the mat and breathing, if he moves off of it or stops breathing it sounds a LOUD alarm on his sensor in his room and our parent's monitor (which also works as a baby monitor).  It gives us a great peace of mind! And it was only $65 at Walmart, but like I said, who can put a price on this??

Here's one of mine and Zane's favorites!  Sophie Le Giraffe!! She is a developmental and teething toy! Apparently she's all the rage, I had a physical therapist tell me I was the only mom she's seen who hasn't bought this simple toy, well I fixed that real quick and I'm glad I did!  Zane loves her, he squeaks her and chews on her and loves to stare at her contrasting colors!

I am also in love with some good ole spray paint!!!

It helped me accomplish this and this!  Go read all about it and see my before and after pics!!

Lastly, I am LOVING being a new Scentsy Consultant!!!!  Please visit my website and I would love any business from you lovely bloggers.  Just order from me online https://makeitmelt.scentsy.us/Home and it'll be shipped right to your door!! Makes fabulous Christmas gifts!!

And of course, I'm ALWAYS loving this adorable guy!!!!

Happy Wednesday!!!

A Hallway Update

Well I mentioned yesterday how I was doing some little updates around the house, and my hallway that goes into my son, Zane's room and the guest room and bath needed a major one!!  All it's had on it was a picture frame which held 3 photos from our engagement, 6 years ago!  So I got my creative juices a flowin' and it hit me like a ton of bricks that I had several picture frames that I had NOTHING to do with and they had no where to go! But I had a problem, none of them matched eachother. I like things a little matchy-matchy with a kick of uniqueness mixed in.  I always wanted to do a photo collage and in this hallway I thought it'd go great and I wanted something pretty to look at on my way into Zane's room (which I do ALOT throughout the day).  I got all my frames together, some were gold, and really gold and some had mats with a border, but I made it work and the best part is it only cost me $5!!!!  Yep, you heard (read) right!!!  Here's how it turned out, I really like it!!
See the frame in the center with all of us? That border inside was gold too, I took that puppy out and painted it to match the rest!

This frame was the one that held our engagement photos and was the only thing floating on the wall.  I took that mat out and spray painted it cream, funny huh?? But you can't tell and it looks great!

This is a little space between a closet and our guest bath. I found this frame at Home Goods and Zane's newborn pictures go great in it!!

Home Decor Project

I have been working on several projects on my home to add little unique touches.  It all started with this frame I got at First Monday in Canton, TX when we first bought our home in 2005. Once upon a time I believe this frame held a mirror.  When I purchased it, it was empty.  I had this in my formal dining room and hung plates inside the frame on the wall. Eventually I became sick of that look and took it down and it went straight to the attic.  It's been there for years. Then, a few weeks ago my husband's family was having a garage sale, so up to my attic I went to gather all my items to add.  That's when I ran across this old frame, again!  I immediately thought "I can do something with this!!" Isn't it funny how something you had years ago, then decide you don't want it anymore, you'll run across it years later and want it again??  That's what happened to me!!

Here is the frame how I bought it years ago!

I immediately thought to paint it black!

So I did!

This little wall hanging was going to go in this little nook (hallway is NOT the word for this space) going into our bedroom from the living, kitchen and eating area.  Here is what was there before, very BLAH!

One day browsing on Pinterest (if you haven't joined this site, DO!!!) I found the perfect way to use my repurposed frame!  It's a combination of sorts of these ideas:

So I went to the nearby Hobby Lobby and I bought several of these gold letters they sell that you can do pretty much anything with! And once again, painted them black!  I also bought an "&" sign which I painted white. Our bedroom is black and white, so I thought I should go with those colors. Once I got everything painted and it was dry, I recruited the Hubby!  He got everything all hung and I'm living with it, I am still not sure I love this look like I thought I would! Tell me what you think??
